Here at Willis Lane, certain recycling means money for our school. Your student(s) know these items as Super Recycling and we encourage you to use this phrase to differentiate your regular recycling (paper, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, etc.) from these items that earn money for our school. Please help us by collecting the following recyclables at home and return them to school whenever you have a full bag. We will award the top class prizes in the winter and spring. Thanks for participating in our super recycling program and for being super stewards of the earth!
Items in the super recycling program (photos below) include the following:
- Air care (no bottles) cartridges and packaging
- Brita filters and pitchers
- Cereal bags
- Drink pouches
- Energy/granola bar wrappers
- Entenmann's Little Bites pouches
- Go-Go squeeze pouches
- Oral care packaging (no mouthwash or electric toothbrushes)
- Personal care (no deodorant or aerosol cans)
- Snack bags (chips, etc., no cookie bags)
- #6 plastic cups (i.e. Solo)
Although we do not earn money for the following, you may also send in the items below since we offer these additional recycling opportunities:
Batteries - any size, no car batteries
Glue Sticks and Bottles
Plastic gift cards/credit cards - can be cut before recycling
Writing instruments - pens and caps, markers and caps, permanent markers, expo markers
NOTE: We no longer accept diaper packaging, cleaner packaging, cheese wrappers/packaging, tape dispensers/cores, plastic baggies (other than cereal liners)/containers, or lunch kits (i.e. lunchables) since these recycling programs have been discontinued.
Please contact Melissa Malone at email@example.com if you have any questions.
